The CAS Institute (iCAS), a subsidiary of the Casualty Actuarial Society (CAS), is pleased to announce that an additional 14 predictive analytics professionals have earned its Certified Specialist in Predictive Analytics (CSPA) credential. This achievement will be formally recognized during the CAS Ratemaking and Product Management meeting in Chicago, March 19-21, 2018.
The CSPA credential provides evidence of practical knowledge in applied predictive analytics and data science as used in data-intensive industry sectors. The CAS Institute has now proudly recognized over fifty credentialed professionals with the CSPA since early 2017.
“The CSPA designation is a milestone for my career as a predictive analytics expert,” stated Jun Yan, specialist leader of Deloitte Consulting, LLP and a new CSPA. “As a key practice in the insurance industry for so many years, predictive analytics is still developing and growing, especially in the areas of AI and machine learning. To meet the future challenges, it is essential for predictive analytics professionals to continue to develop both analytics skills and insurance domain expertise.”
“I’ve been an advocate and user of open source tools and predictive analytics for my entire career,” said Edward Reddick, a newly credentialed CSPA and team leader of actuarial research and development at RSA Canada. “It’s exciting that the Casualty Actuarial Society is branching out to train data science skills. I’m happy to be a part of it.”
