Registration Now Open for the Joint Predictive Analytics Hack-A-Thon

The CAS Institute, the Society of Actuaries, and the Canadian Institute of Actuaries are once again joining forces to hold the Predictive Analytics Hack-A-Thon  in conjunction with the joint Predictive Analytics Seminar on April 27, 2023. The competition will take place on the Kaggle platform during the weekend of March 24-26, 2023.

Competitors can:

  • Take on the competition on their own or as a group (with a maximum of five participants per group).
  • Choose their own team or have team members randomly selected.
  • Choose between expert or beginner levels, with both levels being held on the same platform.

The person or the team with the best prediction will win the competition!  Check out the details of last year’s beginner and advanced competitions.

All competitors will be invited to join a special session during the Predictive Analytics Seminar to find out how the winner(s) of each level arrived at their prediction and to connect with fellow participants.

The winner(s) of the competition will receive:

  • A complimentary registration to the Predictive Analytics Seminar.
  • The opportunity to be a featured speaker during one of the seminar’s sessions on April 27.
  • An honorable mention in each organization’s online news (advanced category only).

All competitors must be a member of at least one of the hosting organizations (iCAS, CAS, CAS Student Central, SOA, or CIA/CIAnet subscriber) and pay the $40 entry fee to participate and win prizes. The entry fee can be applied as a credit towards registration for the Predictive Analytics Seminar ($350)
