The CAS Institute is pleased to announce the establishment of the iCAS Online Community. All iCAS members in good standing will soon receive an email with instructions on how to log into this exclusive members-only benefit.
In addition to a member directory and event calendar, the community will include several discussion forums, including an iCAS Book Club. The Book Club will be member-driven and moderated by Brian Fannin, ACAS, CSPA, CAS Research Actuary. Brian may also invite guest moderators to join him. The purpose of this group is to share knowledge and learn in a community environment. Our goal is to discuss 2-3 books by the end of the year. iCAS members will receive a survey to help choose the books for our discussion.
Another forum will be a Study Group for the Predictive Modeling-Methods and Techniques Examination.
“We’re excited to bring this member benefit to iCAS members,” Joanne Spalla, who is involved in the iCAS committee that initiated the online community, stated. “The Book Club and Study Group forums are in response to requests we’ve received from our members, and we’re happy to be able to facilitate these discussions.”
