The CAS Institute is pleased to announce the release of the remaining course materials for course DS1: Data Concepts and Visualization. Several external readings have been added to the otherwise online curriculum.
“Rather than create original material when the topics are well covered in many well respected books, [the curriculum committee] opted to utilize already existing materials,” explained Louise Francis, FCAS, CSPA, MAAA, curriculum committee chair.
The first testing window remains unchanged: October 15-December 15, 2017.
If you have not yet joined The CAS Institute, please remember that you need to become a member before taking the third assessment, Predictive Modeling. We expect to offer that assessment in mid-January 2018. That course will be all self-study; there will not be an online course.
