I am ABD in Finance from Stanford University, Graduate School of Business. I have a Master’s in Statistics from Stanford, and was a double major in Applied Math and Economics from UC-Berkeley. I am a Fellow of the Casualty Actuarial Society.
I have about twenty years of working experience, starting in Management Consulting and later with a Financial Management Startup during the dotcom boom years of 1999-2002. However, the majority of my career has been in Property/Casualty Insurance. My insurance experience started on the health side with a division of HealthNet, then moved to property/casualty with CNA, Zurich, Allstate and Sentry.
I led Quantitative Analytics and Research at Allstate, and also spent time as the state manager of Allstate New Jersey, where I was responsible for the profitable growth of more than $1 billion in premium. I created the Advanced Analtyics department at Sentry, and led that for five years before switching over to the UW-Madison School of Business to teach Business Analytics and Actuarial Science.
