INSTRUCTORS

Brian Brown, FCAS
Milliman, Inc.
Brian is currently President-Elect of the Casualty Actuarial Society (CAS).  He is a member of the American Academy of Actuaries.  Brian has served in numerous volunteer positions for CAS, and has authored and co-authored numerous publications, including Study Note Reading on Deductibles.  Brian is Global Casualty Practice Director for Milliman, Inc. where his areas of expertise are property and casualty insurance, especially ratemaking, loss reserve analysis, and actuarial appraisals for mergers and acquisitions.  He has extensive experience in both commercial and personal lines, including professional liability and workers’ compensation.  Brian has also provided legal support services to law firms. His clients include many of the largest insurers/reinsurers in the world. Brian has a BS in Economics from Illinois State University.

Todd W. Lehmann, FCAS, CSPA, CPCU, MAAA
Quincy Mutual Fire Insurance Co.

Todd Lehmann is the Chief Actuary and Vice President at Quincy Mutual Fire Insurance Company, with 24 years of actuarial experience. In addition to predictive modeling and analytics, Todd’s background includes ratemaking and pricing analyses for personal and commercial lines, loss reserving analyses, enterprise risk management, economic capital modeling, catastrophe modeling, underwriting, and product development. He chaired the CAS Committee on Ratemaking from 2008-2011, has served on the CAS Exam and Syllabus Committees, and currently chairs The CAS Institute’s Subject Matter Expert Panel for Predictive Analytics and Data Science.

Chris Monsour, FCAS, CSPA, MAA
CNA Insurance Companies

Christopher Monsour, Vice President — Analytics manages a predictive modeling team at CNA Insurance, in support of Specialty Underwriting and Sales & Distribution.  Chris has over 20 years of experience in insurance predictive analytics, including work at Travelers, Tillinghast, and Allstate, and he has seen a great growth in the use of analytics in insurance over that time, especially driven by the exploitation of previously untapped sources of data.  He has a Master’s degree in Mathematics from the University of Chicago, and Bachelor’s degrees in mathematics and physics from the University of Maryland.  Chris is Fellow of the Casualty Actuarial Society, a Certified Specialist in Predictive Analytics, and a member of the CAS Institute and of the American Academy of Actuaries, and he serves on board of the Insurance Data Management Association.  He has also served on many CAS committees and currently serves on the Professionalism Policy Review Council and the CAS Institute’s Subject Matter Expert Panel for Predictive Analytics and Data Science, and he also chairs the exam committee for the CSPA predictive modeling exam.
